Painted in April of 1904, during the voyage of the Discovery

It is a view of the Royal Society Range, as seen from Winter Quarters Bay

During my first season on the ice, I bunked in dorm 209 next to the window.

This was the view outside, 96 years earlier.

It is now in a private collection where I have seen it and admired it.
